Discover Q3 Categories: Home Improvement, Amazon

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. This means Discover is now committed to 6 months of Amazon (quarters 3 and 4).

Looks like I won't be getting too much value out of the next quarter, but I expected that. I'm hoping they do brick and mortar clothing and department stores again for the 4th quarter instead of just "online shopping."

FICO-8:
EX - 809 (11/16) | TU - 803 (11/16)
Primary Cards:
American Express EveryDay - $20,000 (10/14)
Discover it - $23,000 (2/14)
AU on Barclay Sallie Mae - $10,000 (8/15)
plus several store accounts of varying usefulness now

Kinda makes sense for them to do online shopping though. Usually, credit card companies earn more in swipe fees for "card not present" transactions.

Listen, I'm just worried about my cashback balance here :ppp
I did not know that, though. I'd guess clothing/department stores don't get much of a break in their discount rates, though, being places with high markups and nonessential goods where people are more prone to impulse buys and/or more likely to only able to pay with credit.

Meh. Pretty much gonna be sitting in the drawer unless I need something at Home Depot. Amazon just doesn't excite me as much as some people. You can get a lot of the stuff for less elsewhere, and I just don't find myself constantly wanting to buy things on there anyway. Once in awhile it's nice but it's not a regular spend for me.

I bought some tools and cleaning supplies at Home Depot, and Prestige's Price Rewind has been more rewarding than even 10% cash back.
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

Well, Discover does have Price Protection. It's not automatic and you have to file a claim, but I have used it on more occasions than one. Other than the work involved on the consumer's part, I am not sure that is an advantage for Citi.

True. I got 7 or 8 items under $25 each, so simplicity helps. If it was a big ticket item I'd be more willing to do the research myself.
