I have 2 store cards and I have 2 loans out that I'm paying towards. I don't get why I cant get this card. and if theres any other suggestions please let me know. thanks in advance!!

You have a very thin file. Presumably, you have nothing negative on the cards/loans you have, and sufficient income. Give yourself 9-12 months and then try again. Time is your ally.

I'd suggest not trying to get a coapplicant for a joint account. The Discover website isn't really set up for joint accounts, and getting CLIs on a joint account can be a nuisance.

I would wait until you have at least a year of total history before you apply again.

Unfortunately, "a month or two ago" is basically nothing in the world of credit. You need to give it 6 months at the very least and preferably a year. Build a solid history for that timeframe and then try. You are having trouble because Discover is relatively conservative with initial approvals. They aren't known for big approvals for really anyone with any score. In most cases, you have to "get in" and then "prove yourself" in a sense with them. So I'm not too surprised you haven't been approved yet.

Just give it time (more than 1-2 months) and try again. Trying again now is just going to waste more HPs.

Discover isn't easy to get when starting out for most people I think. I know when I applied 3 years ago they told me to get a co-signer. I didn't and so I got a store card instead.

I think it would be best to wait until a year of full credit history so you have a better shot of approval and a better starting CL.

Would suggest giving yourself 12 months and keep your utilization under 20% prior to applying.

The why is in your OP. 5 months is no time at all. 2 store cards and 2 loans is a thin file and already a lot of new credit. It takes time to build or rebuild.

We can't tell you when you'd get approved a year is what I'd suggest as well but it's not just a matter of time.
