So more or less the same as 2014/2015. I guess at least they are being consistent (although movies being their own category is kind of a joke; they should expand it to "entertainment" including music downloads, bowling, stuff like that).
It'd be nice if they did that. Although I suppose the current structure would include special events at movie theaters, since it'd bill the same way.
I don't spend much money directly at theaters, if at all. Again, Costco has movie tickets at a significant discount all the time (currently $18 for a set of 2 Century Theaters tickets, and around here, movies run $12-$13 per ticket at the box). Restaurants I'll probably use some of, although I'm cooking at home more and more now, so it'd be nice to see a grocery quarter for those of us without a EDP/BCP. Then again, Costco eats up most of my grocery spend and some of my restaurant spend with discounted gift cards too (especially the mid-range places).
I'll try to be optimistic; at least they really haven't nerfed their categories over time. It's been pretty consistent at least since I've had it (early 2012 ish).
I don't go to the movies very often, so it being a bonus category isn't exciting. Plus, as you explained, there's other ways to get a bigger discount.
