So more or less the same as 2014/2015. I guess at least they are being consistent (although movies being their own category is kind of a joke; they should expand it to "entertainment" including music downloads, bowling, stuff like that).

It'd be nice if they did that. Although I suppose the current structure would include special events at movie theaters, since it'd bill the same way.

I don't spend much money directly at theaters, if at all. Again, Costco has movie tickets at a significant discount all the time (currently $18 for a set of 2 Century Theaters tickets, and around here, movies run $12-$13 per ticket at the box). Restaurants I'll probably use some of, although I'm cooking at home more and more now, so it'd be nice to see a grocery quarter for those of us without a EDP/BCP. Then again, Costco eats up most of my grocery spend and some of my restaurant spend with discounted gift cards too (especially the mid-range places).

I'll try to be optimistic; at least they really haven't nerfed their categories over time. It's been pretty consistent at least since I've had it (early 2012 ish).

I don't go to the movies very often, so it being a bonus category isn't exciting. Plus, as you explained, there's other ways to get a bigger discount.

I enjoyed the categories last year. They seemed to all come at just the right time for me. My biggest spend was on restaurants. The Amazon and department stores were great also. The only cat I didn't do much in was home improvement. I like the calendar last year and I am hoping they don't shake things up to much this year.

I don't get much out of home improvement either. Luckily Lowe's carries a lot of gift cards, so I can at least make a little use out of it.

I like that they offer home improvement. Some years, I don't get much out of it, but if you have a home project to do it's nice.

I like that they offer it also purely because there are almost zero other options of home improvement stores, really. You can do the "buy home depot GC at grocery store" thing, or there's the Lowe's 5% card, but if you prefer home depot there isn't much out there in terms of rewards. Comenity has the Farmer's Visa with 3% on home improvement, but I'm not opening a new account for an extra 1% on rather occasional purchases (plus, I'm not a big Comenity fan).

People have to make much larger purchases, too, so it can be lucrative even if not a frequent category. I was very pleased to find out that the new sofa, chair, and painting I got at a furniture store was categorized as home improvement. I don't recall if I made a single other "home improvement" purchase, but that alone maxed me out in a quarter from which I didn't plan on receiving much.

Just want to say they have now publicly shown Q3 and 4 now.

Q3 is home improvement/amazon and Q4 is Amazon and more.

I hit everything on the head other than Q3 including Amazon and Q4 having a "more" part to it.

I hope the "more" in Q4 is department and clothing stores again.

Glad to see home improvement returning. Amazon, meh. Doesn't really matter to me either way.

Amazon matters to me, but that is because I have a shared prime account from a long time ago that doesn't allow me to get the store card with it.

Now if Discover would put Newegg under the %5 CB discover deals then I wouldn't feel so bad about not having a US bank cash+. (Though I have also realized it's not the end of the world if I can't get %3 more CB on a card as normally pricing can change by a lot more than that between stores, times and even on the same day at the same store.)

I drive 50 miles each day for work, so the gas bonus categories is totally worth it.
