I just requested a CL increase. Last increase was approx. 2 months ago. I was denied due to short time with Discover. 6 months.

I am thinking the student version does not get the 16 day window since I keep getting a denial for not enough time with current limit. Had for over a month.
Discover IT - $5,700
Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)

I chatted with Discover regarding the student version. I app'd for the student version a couple years ago. From what the rep said, it is only when you apply that it is marking you as a student. But once the card gets approved, then the "student" becomes nonexistent, then it is a regular Discover It card.
Citi Forward $6,400
Discover It $9,000
Chase Freedom $15,000
Amex BCE $20,000
Citi DC $12,500
BoA Cash Rewards $10,000
Cap One QuickSilver $10,000

You didn't expect that you'd get an increase every 16 days until the end of the world? You've certainly got some sort internal limit, based on income, credit, and blood type. I'd bet you've hit it.

That's my guess too. Just have to keep using the card and trying again.

Once I get to 10k, I"m going to back off a bit. They are probably THE most conservative lender out there in terms of limit, even more so than Cap One on their prime cards (subprime is another story of course). I'll still hit it, but I won't be quite as religious about it and won't worry about whether it works or not.

I will say this though - I'm personally at a point I don't care to deal with cards with a limit under 10k. AT SOME POINT, I'm going to just use it and pay when the statement cuts, to make life easier, and I don't want to have to worry that if I use a card a lot on a given month it's going to affect my score because of having a smaller limit. I just want to get to the point I use it like "normal" people do instead of paying before the statement cuts. The cards that don't allow that will not give me any incentive to keep and use them. Fortunately Discover has been giving out some good CLIs so I do plan to keep and use them regularly.

I'm thinking of putting more spend on Amex as well.

Or maybe they've finally pulled the plug on that. If so it was good while it lasted. I won't be able to find out for another 8 days.
