I do not understand their ACLI's. So random it seems.

One of my friends got one after having his It card for barely a month.

Definitely seems to be random, though there may be some validity to Discover granting auto CLI if one is carrying a balance. I'm currently carrying a balance and last month, completely out of the blue, they sent me an email that they were increasing my credit limit from $11600 to $12800...a $1200 increase. Quite the surprise, though pleasant surprise.
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!

My recent experience would be "change in usage." I used to charged 4,000 on 5,250 limit, then I paid off and only charged 2-30 for gas. Out of the blue, they increased my limit to 15,000. I'm quite happy!

Congrats on the increase.

I might play around with some MS and charge the card up to the limit and then pay it down in full to see what happens.

Congrats. The only Auto-CLI I got from them was two years ago and it was only a $250 increase.

Mine's a joint account with a parent, so I think a simultaneous HP on both account holders is required to increase it from the $2k starting limit. No auto-CLIs are even possible, as far as I'm aware.

It's been open for 13 months now, with about $6k in total spending and a fair mix of 1% and 5%+ stuff. Maybe it is time to coordinate a joint HP.

Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when
