Discover just granted me a CLI (from $21.5K to $28K) based on internal records alone. I don't know if they might have done a SP, but I was emphatic that I did not want a HP and they told me they would not do a HP without my advance permission. Then they granted the CLI without asking to do a HP.

AFAIK, Discover pulls TU, and CreditKarma immediately notifies me of HPs on TU. I've not received such a notification, so it seems they were telling the truth.

(The curious thing is that Discover granted my CLI but rejected an APR decrease request on the same day. See my "Discover confusion" post for that story.)

For the record, I have a Discover Open Road account, not a Discover More. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Was it like what I've read about amex CLIs above 25k? I'm referring to the whole sending documentation hassle, or was it like any other CLI?

Nope; they just consulted their internal records. I presume they look at things like my spending patterns, payment history (100% on-time, not habitually carrying a balance etc.) The only information they wanted from me was a verbal confirmation of my annual income. I did not have to submit any paperwork of any kind.
