Discover asks for documents as proofs

Postby daniel2304 » Tue Sep 30, 2014 11:24 pm

My friend just applied for the Discover It by the link on this forum (so it must be legit) and he was asked to upload documents to prove his identity. One is proof of address, which you can choose bank statement, utility etc... and the other is social security card. They actually require him to upload it.

Does it happens to anyone? Should he be terrified?

That's standard verification process credit card companies ask for.

Yes it did happen to me when applying. In this occasion your friend will have to upload his Social Security card and there is nothing to terrify. Upon application, they will have your friend's SSN anyways.
