I am guessing that Apple tried to involve them but it fell through. I just hope that they will be added in the future since my IT is my main card.

Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)

Sent a question to Discover and got this back:

"
I can definitely understand your concern and disappointment in not being able to use your IT card with Apple Pay.

Why isn't Discover in the Apple iPhone 6 payment ability?
Discover is working to make U.S. mobile commerce a reality. We participate in multiple wallets and hope to join Apple Pay in the future.

I apologize that we don't have any more information than that at this time. I will definitely let the appropriate parties know of your concerns.

I don't think the terms Apple gave them were too inviting. Apple is notorious for kicking around other companies that they don't see as equal partners. Just two days ago, when I logged into my Discover account online, I saw a message asking me to add it to my Google Wallet. Which of course I did.

THIS^^^ is most probably the cause for exclusion.

It'd be an interesting battle. What Apple Pay might finally do is force merchants who already have contactless terminals to activate them. I have been to a ton of stores that have them but aren't activated. I can't tell you how dumb that is. But once activated, they aren't exclusive to Apple. Google Wallet will work just fine with that as well. Sort of a level playing field. I like that.

I thought I read somewhere today that Discover is joining, I can't think of where I saw it now but do believe I read a headline about it.

American Express TrueEarnings Card from Costco
Marriott Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card

The terminals aren't active because the merchants gave up on the tech.
Many near me joined MCX, which uses bar codes, as a replacement to NFC, because iPhones didn't have NFC.
[size=60]
American Express PRG - NPSL ('10) - NONE - Replace with BCE in 2015
US Airways barclaycard - $20,000 ('14) - Catch All - PC to Arrival in 2016
BankAmericard | Cash Rewards - $8,200 ('99) - Gas, Groceries
Discover It - $8,700 ('14) - 5% categories, ShopDiscover
