Wanting to apply for a credit card...

Postby glg1992 » Fri Aug 29, 2014 8:38 pm

Hello,
I have some questions about apply a credit card...I am eyeing on the Discover it card (the student card version) since I like that the application is very simple and short process. This card seem perfect, low credit line to start out with. I only wanting to use it as a emergency card and then later use it regularly when I obtain a second job.

I am not concern about income asking...I have a regular part-time job that would make Discover happy what I am making minimally.
But in the application, it ask how much do I pay for rent/mortgage. I don't pay mortgage or pay rent as I live with my parent. So should I put zero or put what my parent pay for mortgage?

Thanks.

I put down 0 for rent as I also live at home and was fine. Instantly approved many months ago with a starting limit of 500 dollars.

Yeah, just put 0 down. Discover would only care if you were personally liable for the mortgage, which you're not.
