Not sure when you opened it but give them some time (a chance) and if they just simply don't ever loosen up, well, you have other cards with higher limits to put the spend on so their loss.

It's still relatively new. Was able to get it in April as an instant approval and it was one of the first college cards I had wanted to get but couldn't before because of the lack of banking and credit history. Three months after I got it because I've heard of people who have gotten auto CLIs after that amount of time, I requested a CLI through their chat and got declined because it was still too new for them so I'll just keep being patient and using it.

I use it primarily to pay the bills because a lot of them don't take Amex and always keep the balance low compared to the total available credit and have taken advantage of some of the nice 5% cashback categories too. I also still have that six month 0% APR offer so that's pretty nice to have as well. Because of that and the really nice 15 month 0% APR offer I got on my EveryDay card as well as my lowest interest rate afterwards on that one, I'm going to start using cards like the Forward a lot less or not at all unless they can also give me a better offer or something.

I'm almost done with CapOne's credit steps program so I'm hoping something good might happen with them next month or in October and depending on how that goes, I'll definitely close the Chevron card. For some people, they have become a lot more generous and giving those people more than just the minimum amount they qualified for. The Quicksilver I have now was originally a Journey college card that I had converted so I don't know how much that's going to impact things but yeah.
Macy's TLs (21k), Lowes (17k), CSP (10k), Sam's Club (10k), Nordstrom (5k), AARP (4.2k), Freedom (3k), Discover (1.5k), Quicksilver (2k), BoA (3k), Barclaycard Arrival (2.5k), Amazon Store (6k), Paypal (4.9k), Sam's Club MC (3.6k), Walmart MC (1.2k)

Over the past year I've managed to raise my average credit score from 564 to 723 and I hope to keep it going.

A year ago I held a Capital One Platinum MasterCard with a $1K limit, a junk Visa card from Credit One Bank with a $400 limit (since increased to $800) and an American Express Green Card. All of these cards are still open and will remain so.

I've never really had any credit card with more than a $1000 limit. After all this hard work raising my score, I decided to apply online for the Discover it card and was pleasantly surprised to get approved for a $10K limit. I'm hoping that having significantly more unused available credit will help drive my score higher.

Do any experienced Discover card holders have any ideas on how to best manage this card to get CLI's in the near future?

thats good stuff there! i got approved for 5k with a 723 EQ. a few months back. best way to manage your CL, is to use what you can pay each month full. though make sure you take advantage of the 0% apr. which in your case since you have 10k it wont affect you much.
BoA Cash Rewards $4000
Macy's $1000
Discover it $5000
Chase Sapphire Preferred $5000
Chase Freedom $2000
Amex Green NPSL
Amex Gold Premier Rewards NPSL

Find me on MyFico: Sapingo (if you see me say hello)!
