Would anyone here know for certain if CPA's [unauthorised CPA's] can be stopped AFTER one has paid off their outstanding credit card balance and then terminates their credit card?
I have had several conflicting answers from another forum over the CPA question and I just don't know what to believe now. As you can guess, I am being scammed by a fraudalent company as they have obtained my card details so I have had unathorised debits applied to my credit card which is freaking me out. Another question I need clarifying and that is if the fraudalent company refuses to accept your cancellation and you have evidence of your cancellation [through your letters requestng cancellation which are then mailed with a request for signature on delivery at their destination, so the company cannot deny receipt can, their unauthorised CPA's then be stopped by your credit company? Thank you in advance for your advice! |

I'm not sure about how it works in the UK exactly but in the US if they are fraudulent you are not responsible for them.

I am also not sure how it works in the UK. Here in the US you can call the bank and have them cease all payments and charges for a specific merchant. That prevents the merchant from charging your card. You still have to notify the merchant.
