Canadian law enforcement uncovered a huge stash of fake credit cards which appear to be very elaborate. The picture provided by the police (attached) is small but you can still see the fake credit cards good enough to see they have holograms and everything. It looks like they even counterfeited the Citi and HSBC logos exactly on a few of them. These were supposedly manufactured by the Canadian fraud ring and fifty or so were found along with an arsenal of weapons.
You hear about credit cards that are reprogrammed/reflashed sometimes in the news but rarely do you ever hear about fake credit cards that are manufactured by the criminals. I don't even know the last time I saw a news story about fake credit cards being produced by the criminal. Being that many stores allow the customers to swipe their debit card or credit card themselves, I would think that it would be rather easy for these crooks to pass these cards for real if they were never held or examined by the cashier.

Crap those do look real! Are they fake credit card numbers or are they using other people's accounts and then reprogramming the cards with that info? This is one of the drawbacks with technology I guess is that now dicks can go out and make fake credit cards. It's everyone else that ends up paying for their fraud in the form of higher prices and higher credit card processing fees to cover the fraud.
![]() How to generate fake credit card numbers though that work doesn't really seems like it's even possible. Even if they successfully generated fake account numbers that were valid, I don't see how any transaction would go through with them not having a matching expiration date or credit card CCV numbers to match it. That makes me think that these fake credit cards pictured are being reprogrammed or something with real accounts. How did they get the holograms on those though? It's not like someone can crank those out on a printer or something. Making holograms is no easy task from what I understand. This must be a sophisticated operation if they were able to get real looking holograms like that.

THat is very frightening! With most places having self swipe credit card terminals that is really dangerous too because it would be easy for them to pass off those cards.

This is nothing compared to the couple that had a fake credit card "factory" in Baltimore with more than one thousand cards they created.
