Hi everybody,
Newbie here, please help. I'll try to keep this short. Before applying for a loan for a house, I tried to fix whatever was wrong on my credit report. My oldest cc, Citi Amex, was missing which dragged my credit score to below average.
After 6 months of back and forth with Citi card, this is the final response I received:
"After consulting with several ppl in several depts, asked for help in your favor, it is confirmed this account will 'never ever' be reported to the credit bureaus due to a fraud alert was reported in 2007. Usually, we'd close down the account but for some strange reasons, this account was not closed. Nothing can be changed and it will not be reported."
The card works just fine, I use it every month and pay my bills every month. The only problem is that it will "never ever" be reported to the credit bureaus. Now, I've already given up on the idea of this account being reported to all 3 credit bureaus and boost up my credit score as it should have been all along, so I can apply for a loan and give a house to my fiance as she deserves. If there's anyone out there know anyone or has happened to them, the same situation, please let me know and I will go buy lottery tonight. And, please let me know what happened afterwards? Did it get fixed or gave up?
Also, here comes the most important question. If this is true, does it mean that I can max out my card, not pay it back and it won't affect my credit at all? Would Citi not report this account until delinquent activities occur? My assumption is, if they will 'never ever' report this, then I don't need to pay my bills. After all, they can only keep on calling my phone (which I can easily change my #), or keep mailing me letters for collection (which I'll be gladly to receive and burn it in my fireplace to keep me warm during Winter).
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you all in advance
