Alternatively you should just do a search for "Nigerian scam website" and look for a forum to post all your credit card numbers to.
I was going to suggest he wait for a call from CARDHOLDER SERVICES, and then give them every detail they ask for, including his numbers. But moving over to Nigeria may be a better alternative.

As much as I try not to be rude, some people seem to only take action when you finally give them a kick in the pants. But I don't know, this person seems to actually like being kicked so I am at a loss as to how to help him anymore. He'll probably find another gold-digger tomorrow and do the same thing all over again.

He hasn't been on the forum for a couple weeks. It would be nice to get an update from him.

All of the negativity is not appreciated. I asked the question for support, not to be belittled for my lifestyle choices. Since my last post I was able to collect the credit card debt from her but why should I tell you how it went down if you are going to tease me about it?

You came here for advice. You got it. Then you ignored it and started defending the chick who abused you. What do you expect?

You need to realize that next time you are a victim your rights start going away fast. If someone punches you, you better report it within a day or so or no one will believe you, and even if they do there would be no evidence to prosecute. Same with a car accident or a breakin.

And the same with credit cards. When you see an unauthorized charge you should be on the phone with the card company in less than an hour!

So what happened? You confronted her, she sweet talked you, gave you the money, and then a little bit of coochy-coo to make it all better?

This is basically expected on American forums these days. Doesn't matter troll or not.

Well, at least, IN THEORY there was a happy ending here.... assuming it all happened.

I have experienced the same kind of situation and what i did first is that i contacted the credit issuer.. I told them everything.. They will then suggests things that you need to do.. However, it will be a case to case basis.. They will make an investigation how things have happened and would evaluate it..

For now, call or visit your card issuer and ask help from them..

I just read the whole thread and I'm thinking that the girl might have a big reason to hamper your ability to report the issue with the proper authorities: in a normal fraud situation here are the steps: 1.) report the fraud activity to your bank and have the card blocked immediately as soon as it is determined that there is and identity theft. 2.) request a receipt/proof of purchase from the store or if you are not able to do it the credit card statement will do and get the transaction number, date and other info. 3.) fraud department will determine how the fraud happened if your missing your CC or if the thief got only your CC number to make a POS (point of sale) online. 4.) fraud will request fax and other receipts if you still can get hold of the company that the purchase was made including the police report.... If you're fast enough you can have this done by 1 week.

With your problem, if in case it happened again that you know the person, the best course of action is to have the card blocked and request for another card. Then advise her/him that you have reported the problem with the proper authorities, have a recorder handy that the conversation will be overheard and if you have a camera that you can hide to view and record the conversation which can be substantial enough as evidence for any malicious intent or blackmail that might happen. Always cover your @$$ for whatever might happen so you'll not be on the disadvantage situation.
