I've only had my card compromised once from my TYP Mastercard. I have no idea how it my number was stolen. I was only using it for grocery purchases for a promotional offer I got so the card never left my sight. I got a email from Citi stating my account has been temporarily suspended for a possible fraudulent charge in Texas (would have preferred a phone call.)

I had my Visa Debit and my Discover cards ripped off at the same time, I guess it was RFID theft or something cause they never left my wallet when it happened. Shockingly, TD Bank was really cool about it and didn't even try to hold me liable for any of the charges on my debit card, although I had to go to them because they supposedly tried to call me and had the wrong phone number on file because of a typo. But they did create for me a new card right then and there when I walked into my local branch. I caught the Discover charges logging onto my account to check something, called them, and had it handled right away.

My Amex was comprimised last June. I live in Hawaii and several charges to the tune of $550 were made at a Seattle based companies. I just resolved it last month--I caused the delay not Amex.

Yes, but no charges were made. Chase overnighted me a new debit card when they found out my account information had been compromised. There was a large theft ring going on at a popular gas station near my home in Dallas, and the perps were running the theft ring from Brooklyn, NY. CRAZY.
