here's what happened, monday I got a call from Discover, a card I haven't used in over 3 months, to confirm online purchases at macy's for over $500, it wasn't me so they cancelled the charges, replaced my card, end of that story. Next day, tuesday I'm checking my amex Bplatinum balance and I see charges on Chili's in CA, Toys R Us and Walmart.com, but the card was in my possession all the time. I called amex, they changed my number, sent me a new card and told me to call when the charges are posted to have them removed. Last night I'm checking the balance on my Zync card and it has 2 Macy's charges and 2 $1 pending authorizations for Groupon and Raphsody, which I'm 100% positive I didn't do. Then again, they changed the number and are sending me a new card.
What's up with that? I freaked out and put alerts on all my credit reports, but how can this happen, 3 times in the same week?! Are thieves working extra during the holidays or what? Anyone have experienced something like this lately?
