First off, seeing this happened in China and knowing how corrupt that 'crazy' they get over there, I think I can almost guess correctly what they are blackmailing you for. I don't blame you for trying to cover this up as this can ruin your career and more importantly your family life.BUT take a step back... the cover-up can cost you more than just facing it head on.
IF I was you, the first thing I would do is come clean with your family and work. I know this sounds 'stupid' but believe me, lying about it may not be the best long term solution. Just take a look at ex President Bill Clinton. He had all the power in the world and it blew up in his face.
You need to clean things up on your end and then be fearless and tell the blackmailers you don't care. IF you remove that threat from them, then they have nothing and you 'win' so to speak.
Tell the credit card company the TRUTH. Then involve the authorities. By lying to them, they can't help you PROPERLY.
Forget about the cops in China. Although not all can be bought, its hard to find out who you can trust. Besides, can you speak the language proficiently enough to sort this thru? Deal with this Stateside where you have a fighitng chance.
