So I'm not a happy camper this Friday. After what has been a very long week at work, I came out of the gym today and got a text message saying a charge had been made to my checking account from my Debit card. I'm like that's odd since I never use the thing. I call the bank and realize that my card was taken out of my wallet while I was at the gym and used with in 20 minutes of me starting at the gym at Target for around $700. Along with the Debit card, they also took my Chase Hyatt card but no charge was made on that.
So here is my questions. First person I talked to at Regions bank said that once the charge posted I could go to the branch and dispute it and go from there. I called back later since I had another question and the second rep deleted the pending charge and said that should cancel the charge since my card had been cancelled incase they try to hit it again. Any thoughts one if deleting the pending charge will actually cancel the charge and leave the money in my checking account?
On a side note, do they still make plain ATM only cards these days?
