Sounds as if they're following a reasonable protocol and everything will work out. Good luck.
However, I will point out that if you had been using a credit card, the fraud likely would have been detected by the bank immediately (with their sophisticated algorithms) and they would have locked the account down right away to protect THEIR MONEY, and they would also be burning up your cellphone.
Look where that sense of urgency goes when it's YOUR MONEY that's at risk.
Forgive me for saying so, but it just blows my mind that anyone uses debit cards. They scare the hell out of me!
American Express: Blue Cash Preferred (groceries, 6%; gas, department store, 3%); Gold Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines, 2 miles/dollar, free checked bag).
US Bank: Cash+ (utilities, phone, internet, restaurant, 5%; drugstores, 2%).
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (everything, 2%); Fidelity Visa (everything, 1.5%).
Chase: Freedom (rotating, 5%); Amazon (Amazon.com, 3%); PriorityClub (IHG hotels, 5 points/dollar); Sapphire (not in use).
*All cards are registered with PriorityClub IDine program for 8 points/dollar at participating restaurants.
