My credit card is locked, what do I do?

Postby sonora » Thu Mar 29, 2012 10:05 pm

I've recently had my credit card denied and a hold placed on it. The card is good, I've met all my obligations with the company, I have not notified them of a loss of the card, the card is in my possession.

I do travel between the U.S. and Mexico, however the card has been used in both countries in the past, with no problem.

I tried to fix the credit card lock through the company's web site, with my personal login, and secure message, to no avail. The company wants me to call them to fix the problem, however, I'm not currently in a area where I have a phone, internet access is by satellite. Plus I'm not too keen on giving a lot of personal information over the phone, in order to id myself.

Are there any suggestions, that might help to eliminate my credit card being locked, both now and in the future?

thanks in advance.

Gotta get to a phone. If it is a US card there is probably a toll free number you can call collect from Mexico.
