Should I report my credit cards lost?

Postby Mad Season » Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:28 pm

*** I'm not sure if this thread should go somewhere else, someone move it if it should ***

Hello everyone. I'm having a serious problem and need your advice.

I recently applied for two credit cards and got approved for both. I received my two credit cards less than two weeks ago but I'm about to report them both lost!

Long story short, I accidentally linked both of my credit cards to my limited PayPal account instead of linking them to my active PayPal account and now I'm not allowed remove from that account since it's limited (I can't provide a proof of address to remove the limitation ( either - those who have PayPal accounts know what I'm talking about)

Since I use PayPal/eBay alot, I need to link my credit cards to my active PayPal account but that seems to be impossible since the two cards I have are already linked to another account.

What should I do? Should I go ahead and report them lost to get new credit cards with new numbers? Please help! :(

I've been using PP for over 10 years (both business and personal) and have never heard of a limited account. Can you explain?

It is a good thing that your concern has been resolved already. However, regarding the question, if lost cards should be reported or not; the answer is yes. If your credit card is physically lost, meaning you either misplaced your card or it was stolen, then you have to report immediately to prevent fraud or identity theft.
