Points Fraud

Postby Stros05 » Mon Oct 31, 2016 9:20 am

A few months ago, I received an email from CapOne telling me that the password for my online credit card account had been reset. A few minutes later, I received another email from CapOne telling me that my email address associated with my credit card account had been changed. Then, I called CapOne and discovered someone had requested and recevied an egift certificate for about $200. So, someone had stolen my credit card rewards. I filed a complaint with CapOne and they eventually refunded my reward points back to me. I just wanted to remind everyone to make difficult user IDs and passwords. Apparently, mine were too easy to crack.

Glad that Capital One did the right thing and refunded your points back to you. Stealing reward points/miles is becoming more prevalent: http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card- ... s-1277.php
