My credit card no. was stolen on 7/1. Someone charged $253.55 (Sprint Wireless) using my card on 7/2. I reported to Sears/Citibank Credit Card as soon as I found out on 7/5/15. 2 months later, Sears/Citibank closed the investigation and rebilled the charge back to my account stating the merchant's receipt is legit. I looked at the merchant's receipt, first, it has no cardholder info except a zip code and it is an incorrect zip code. It does not have anything linking to me (name, address, phone...etc) other than my credit card number. Second, the address on the 2nd page (a PO box in IL) is nowhere near me (NJ). So far, I have faxed and mailed a letter stating I disagree with the rebill. Also called and emailed but all receive no response. I feel the investigator never really take a good look at the receipt. Is there anyway I can appeal the case? What are my rights and options?
