Default Amex cards sold on Ebay?

I have recently got into the hobby of collecting promo cards. I don't know why but I enjoy it. Well I have been looking on Ebay for a personal platinum Amex card to add to my collection and have noticed that I see auctions for people selling their expired credit cards. I mean actual credit cards, not promo cards! Isn't this illegal? I have even seen black amex cards on there.

Hi Riskoe,
I was reading your post how you collect them as well. Did you ever get the platinum amex?
Here is the link to the auction. I apologize but this auction is for the catalog. It is at $102 But I know for sure I have seen auctions for the card. One guy was selling it because they misspelled his name wrong so they were sending him a new one, but he was selling the misspelled name card on Ebay.

I think there was an old thread about selling old credit cards on Ebay. People said that the black cards would be pulled by Ebay staff at the request of Amex. That's why you don't see them up for auction nowadays. They don't want folks selling them.

Saying that, Ive seen gold and green used cards for sale. Im also In correspondence at the moment with a guy who can provide replica black metal amex cards that can be loaded with another cards info (highly illegal im sure) for around $275.

They dont look too real but for someone wanting to show off and have it go through his normal account, Im sure theres a few people who will buy one lol.

Im looking at buying a plastic black amex, just for my collection.

I have an expired black card I would be willing to sell. I tried selling it on eBay but they keep pulling my auction telling them Amex told them to. I am primary on a personal Centurion account, which means I may be able to offer other things as well. Feel free to PM me your email and I will get it touch.
