Has anyone had any luck using the American Express Extended Warranty successfully? We were denied today on our first claim. Not sure if others have better luck using this benefit but we are disappointed. I think it came down to timing on ours.. Here's the brief story:
Bought a LED TV from Costco on Costco TrueEarnings American Express Nov 2010. Oddly enough, Nov 2012 the panel goes bad. Contacted Costco who said to contact American Express. Opened a claim, instructed to have a repair shop give us an estimate, had a repair shop come out, paid $73 for an estimate. They provided an estimate of over $1300 to replace panel. Submitted estimate to American Express last week and received a denied letter today. They will credit us the $73 we paid for the estimate but nothing more.
No details as to why it was denied. Our assumption is that it was too close to the expiration date (I believe it was within days). We are disappointed that this didn't work out. Not sure what to do now.
