Approved for the BCE!

Postby sakhalin » Thu Nov 22, 2012 2:44 am

I just got approved for the BCE! I think it was an instant approval? After my application I got this message: "Thank you for applying for the Blue Cash Everyday from American Express. Your application has been received and will be processed as soon as possible and we will notify you of the decision by mail within 14 days. Thank you for applying." But like 30 seconds later, I checked the status of my application online and....

WHOOO! I still haven't gotten an email confirmation or anything...when will they ask me to create an online account? When I applied for Discover, they made me create an online account immediately after my application. Anyways, I'm pretty excited! This is my first AMEX and its a revolver. I received a mail-in offer for the Green but I didn't really want it (mostly due to the $95 annual fee...for the same AF I can get the CSP). I went to AMEX's pre-qualifying tool and saw that I was pre-selected for the Green, Blue Sky, and Blue Sky Preferred. The Blue Sky cards came with great signup bonus offers, but ultimately, Blue Sky is not the card for me. BCE benefits me the most right now, and I'm glad I pulled the trigger!

Who made you create an online account immediately after the app process? You can't make any online acct without the credit card number and I highly doubt any CSR would pass that information along to you via phone/email. Also, grats on your new card!

I don't know, but Discover made me create an account right after my application online, it just took me to the page to enter my information for creating an online account. I guess my account was already linked to my credit card. Maybe I was instantly approved for Discover too and I just didn't know about it lol *shrug*

I was able to create an account with a reference number I received in an email I got from them. Turns out my credit limit is $3300, just like my Citi Forward. I'm planning on asking for a 3x CLI in 61 days...any spending patterns I should follow in those 61 days to maximize my chances?
