I've only had my AmEx a month so I'm not totally familiar with everything but there is a link on my account summary that says "YOUR CREDIT MATTERS
Access your complimentary Credit Score & Report now." but everytime I click the link I get a page that says: We're Sorry... For security purposes, your request could not be serviced. If you wish to review your account, please call the number on the back of your Card and a Customer Service Representative will be available to assist you. If you wish to make a payment, you can pay via telephone by calling 1-800-472-9297. So is this something I'll have access to eventually? Or is the link an error? |

I haven't seen this feature before. I logged into my account now to try and find it but didn't see it. Let me know where I should look for it and I will check on my account to see if it's doing the same thing too.

I haven't heard of that before either. It isn't something that I train in New Accounts as a selling point of the card, so it must be obscure enough that not many people know about it.
One tool I can suggest if you are curious about your credit score is to use the FICO calculator on Compare Mortgage Rates | CD Rates | Credit Cards Home Equity Loans Mortgages Best Rate Calculator Bankrate.com. That site has outstanding information about credit and finances in general. The credit calculator is accurate within 20 points based on my tests with thousands of scored credit reports at a previous job that dealt with credit repair. It is worth checking out. |

I logged into my American Express account and looked and sure enough there it was. It was only under my Blue Cash card though. My other American Express accounts didn't provide this. I attached the screenshot of the page after I clicked on it.
I haven't clicked any further so I don't understand whether this is truly complimentary or not (it may require enrollment in a plan you have to cancel to not be charged). Anyway I will give it a whirl this weekend and report back to you what it is exactly. That's weird it's not working on your account.

Well it doesn't really matter what Amex you got. If you sign up for their creditsecure offer you'll get it free for 30days no matter what

Doesn't like every credit score service out there offer it free for the first 30 days? I don't see any point in necessarily going with Amex for that when everyone else is offering the same deal. I've never done it because I hate the hassle they make it to cancel those recurring monthly charges.

After weeks of not trying I just tried it again today and it worked. It is only Experians report, I found it to be identical to experians site except for the color scheme. Right now I've got a free year of Experians TripleAdvantage Credit Monitoring so AmEx's report is just repeating what I already know. As far as I can tell it is just like experian, it is a 30 day report and I assume I can request another one in 30 days. Glad to know I'll have this when my free year is up with Experian.

But it really is totally free? I never got around to giving it a spin but if it that's really free there's no reason not to. I did recently check my free credit report last month so I probably don't need to check this month but it definitely would be valuable to cover me until next year when I'm eligible for my free reports again.

Yeah it is completly free. Looking at their FAQ however it looks like it is only for 30 days, after that they recommend enrollment in CreditSecure.
