    Cool American Express Crystal Card

Someone else mentioned it on here and that it's not real yet but I'm not sure about that. I read somewhere else that basically American Express will make you're card into anything you want if you pay enough [meaning you are in the very top - like the top 20 VIP like me ] and if that's true is it that inconceivable to think they might have had one of them request a crystal card?

It's a neat idea if you think about it. They should make the Amex crystal card out of a strong glass or crystal substance so it would be the normal size and shape of a credit card but would be clear like glass. Look like glass, feel like glass.

If they want to make a card even better and more exclusive than the black card than that would be the next way to go. After all they've run out of colors and already used metal so it's time to use something that doesn't involve either - crystal

i don't think the amex crystal card is such a good idea. wouldn't the card break if it were dropped? they would have to make that out of a super durable glass or crystal otherwise if your card dropped on the floor it would shatter! it would look sweet having your name and account numbers engraved in the glass though i do admit it would be the next step above the black card if amex is looking to go that route!

AMEX already has a clear card, so I don't know why they would make something out of anything else clear. In fact, AMEX owns the patent on the technology that makes clear credit cards. As far as them making a crystal card.... not gonna happen. At least not in the near future. The rumor mill is a busy place and not much that comes out of it is true.

American Express does have several clear cards; the Blue series and the Clear card. One made of crystal is an interesting concept for a luxury credit card.

Does the patent apply to transparent credit cards or translucent credit cards? A number of Discover cards are translucent and/or partially transparent, one of which is officially named the Discover Clear card. It features opaque geographic patterns over a clear background- not 100% clear but parts of the card are.

Amex does a spectacular job at scarcity marketing. They want you to think their cards are rarer and harder to get than they actually are. I'm not saying this to put down the company because they do a great job and have mastered this marketing technique. The Crystal Card may not be a reality right now but in due process it is sensible they will need to find a replacement for their famous platinum and black cards if they keep watering them down for the masses. Remember the days when gold level was the ultimate prestige? Now it's almost looked upon as a laughing stock. As time continues it's inevitable that whatever cards are the at the top will become less and less prestigious as people become use to them. This is how marketing works because a product can only be new for so long.

    Hi,

I worked in a couple of luxury Hotels, and I had some guest checking
    out with a Cry... Card.

Now its a card made out of tempered glass its a little bit more heavier that
the cent. card as well the cc numbers and name etc is engraved in the glass.

    Looks amazing...

not sure how long this post is going to be on here b/c i have posted b4
on another forum and it was removed apparently by amex ???

I think the American Express Crystal card is a myth.

Are you sure you don't work for Amex and are trying to create rumors of the card, because it's a product you plan on launching the future?
