500USD might sound low, but there is good way to get a higher credit limit quite fast. Let say if you spend like 1500USD every month, you can make a 1000USD payment to your card in advance, that way you already have 1500USD credit limit, then use it to pay for all your expenses, if by any chance do you go over your real credit limit (500USD), pay the difference, that way, you used your full credit limit and you paid for it, plus you prove to AMEX that you are capable to handle a higher credit limit and were able to pay for it. They will increase your credit limit with no hesitation. I already did once, and it works, and other member of the forum did the same thing to by his laptop using the same method and AMEX increased his credit immediately.

Sorry to respond late, your post was pretty popular. Like others have said, usually within 6 months to a year they will remove the $500 hard limit. And yeah, once they remove the hard limit you would be able to call and have autopay removed. You made a great decision by accepting the offer.

Amex will allow you to pay some items with points, but they require so many points that it doesn't seem worth it. Only certain categories are eligible too, like groceries, gas, etc. So a $30 charge will cost you 300 points, a $300 charge will cost you 3000 points, etc. HTH!

Accepting this offer was excellent, as CC indicated, they will remove your limit and you will be good to go. I suggest you refrain from using points and allow it to accumulate, transferring all your points points to your next level account in a year or two with better rewards might give you more bang for your points.

About the drinks, i was thinking Fiddler's Elbow but it will just have to wait
