Thread: American Express Year End Summary online or hardcopy?

do you people still get a copy of your year end summery of all your charges?

or does american express do this by computers in other words no hard copy

just get the year end summary sent to your email?

I'm just curious.

I have a green card, of course I don't get a hard copy. But American express has sent
me a copy via email.

with all the changes in the world, credit cards companies wanting us to go paperless and being this is a new year, I'm just wondering who still gets hard copies of their year end summary?

Copies of your American Express year end report are for Gold Card, Gold Rewards and Platinum members (I realize Centurion members get copies, but there aren't a lot of people on this board with the black card so I left that 1 off).

No green or zync, we don't get a copy of our report.

Not sure about the Delta platinum.

I've got platinum and it's just online. I can order one for free but why would I want to waste the paper?

because it's supposed to be included with your annual fee. some people like to touch things like clothes at stores, photos in albums, sporting event tickets, and their year end summery of all charges as a hard copy. I know if I had a gold or gold rewards card I would want a hard copy.

DoingHomework Do you think it's fair for Gold card members to be paying 125 and Green members paying 95 and except for gold card events, we get everything the same? or do you think they should be entitled to both a hard copy of the year end summery and gold card events?

Where do you see it included in the annual fee? It is not listed as one of the benefits. It's not even mentioned.

I think it's fair for AMEX to charge whatever people are willing to pay. It's called capitalism. If you don't like the product then just buy something else. If you want access to the Gold Card events or whatever then pay the extra $30. If you think the green card is too expensive, cancel it and get a free card instead. Anything is only worth the price if you get some perceived value out of it. If you are not getting $95 or perceived value from the green card then why are you paying for it?

If you like to feel the annual in your hands, why not just print it out? I guess I am missing something here.

If you have an old gold card application, that you saved or if you remember picking 1 up at a store like Macys, lord & taylor, hotels or airports. if you remember reading 1 it's on there. my dad use to travel on business back in 1994 we shared a card, at the end of the year they sent him 2 copies. 1 for him and 1 for me, I still have that copy. So I know at 1 time they use to send copies maybe nowadays they don't but at 1 time gold card events and your year end summary was included in your annual fee.

Things change. I don't think much was done electronically in 1994 so they had to spend the money on hard copies. Not so much anymore. I for one am glad they don't waste money sending those out.
