Default Amex cancelled my Green acct, need counsel...

Opened in May '11, Amex has now cancelled my Green Acct because of 2 returned payments between September and November. Are my chances of getting a new account with Amex good, as I never had any late payment, just returned payments...? I tried applying for another card with Amex but it got declined and the reason being was a returned payment...how long will Amex reprimand me for returned payments? I don't want to be on the blacklist, should I call and have them review/reconsider it? If so, what would I say?? Help!

Do you mean you bounced a check to AMEX? If so, that's BAD!

Is making a payment from my checking account online to my Amex considered bouncing a check?

If the payment was returned because of there not being enough money in the acct. to cover it, yes. If you just screwed up the acct. numbers when you made the acct. link, then no. In the latter case you should call them and explain. In the former, forget about it, like DH said.
    CARDS (and why)
FIA Card Services: Fidelity Amex (best cash back excepting 5% cards), Fidelity Visa (spare)
Chase: Freedom (only for 5% reward categories, purchases under $10), Sapphire (not in use), Amazon Rewards (for Amazon purchases only)
CapitalOne: No Hassle Rewards (no foreign transaction fee, my only MasterCard, not in use)
Amex: Blue Cash Everyday (not in use)
Discover: More (only for 5% reward categories)

So will I ever be able to open up another account with Amex lets say in 5 years? And am I on their black list?

Unless you can come up with a reason for them to re-open your account and schedule payments from an account with proper funds, you re pretty much Toast.

Not to pour salt in your wound, but you need to be more vigilant with your credit. Two NSF's within three months is unacceptable for any creditor to forgive, let alone Princess Pea American Express.

I would strongly recommend getting a line of credit with your bank or credit union (if offered) for overdraft. It seems to be getting rare to find this service but it does exist. I have it at my bank; it is a $2,000 line of credit attached to my checking. If I am overdrawn, the bank puts the exact amount of the overdraft into checking and I only get charged interest on the days that I carry a balance. It is worth every penny (literally-I usually only pay about $0.19 for using the line of credit for two days or so). It saves embarassment, credit problems etc.

They should only really blacklist you if you charge off with a balance. You could probably reapply again next year and the new card will be backdated to your original Member Since year.

I would call the executive office like the people at MyFico suggested to you. It is worth a shot.
