Thread: Problem with Amex Zync credit limit being too

So I just got my new Zync card today, and I called the customer service to make inquiries about my spending limit, they told me firmly $1800.

BUT I would like to buy a new macbook pro 17" (which is like $2400) with my new Zync card, so that I can enjoy the 5 times bonus points from the Membership Rewards Program. But now that my spending limit is only $1800, can I shop through AMEX website, but pay with 2 different cards? Zync for the first $1800 and the other card for $600.

My concern would be, can I get 1800*5=9000 bonus points once I was charged for this purchase???

Hey, if you buy the laptop with your credit card, are you planning to pay in full the balance? If so, you can pay the difference to the card, so you will have your $1800USD + $DifferenceUSD. Doing this way you will be able to use your card to buy your laptop, and will be able to show AMEX that you are capable to use your limit and pay for it at once.

Just a wild guess.

Actually I wanna say you are a genius...

I did this today and it actually worked!!! I talked to the representative right after I made payment and she told me that my spending limit has been increased, so I will be able to make the transaction and earn the 5 times bonus points....
