Default Can I pay over time with a charge card like the Green?

I want to make a $1000 purchase but instead of paying back this purchase in its entirety by the end of the billing cycle I want to pay it monthly like a regular credit card, can I do that? If so, how?

NO you must have another credit card even if you don't have any other American Express cards. I would use a Visa, Mastercard or a Discover to pay the 1,000 purchase.

Green cards are usually meant for people who travel on business. I know a lot of people use them for personal use but still.

for big purchases I would try and negotiate on the price see. if they have any coupons and if not just use a regular credit card like a Visa.

Amex does, from time to time, offer an option to pay over time on their charge cards; however, you have to be approved for it and the interest rate is sky high. You would be better off using a traditional credit card with a lower interest rate.

You can pay over time with Amex and get a bonus doing so. Here is what you need to pay over time.

AMEX cards are not just for people who travel on business.

You can pay over time on any purchase over $100 I believe but I would not recommend it. My Amex statement comes with an "amount due" that is what I must pay and then the larger amount that is the total amount charged. I always pay the balance in full though so I do not know the details. The link posted above should help..

Default Paying a Gold Premier Rewards card over time?

Hi guys i have had the AMEX Premier Rewards Gold for a few months now and i have been paying it in full over time each and every month (like i have a choice) and i always have had the pay over time feature. Now if I cant afford to pay the full balance this month and pay the minimum this month will it effect my credit?

Not at all (+/- 5 points). Sometimes maintaining a balance actually help your credit.

It won't affect it much. As was said, it could be a slight positive or a slight negative. Since AMEX does not report a credit limit, having a higher balance is positive AFTER you have paid it down because your utilization in the future is lower. But while you have the higher balance your score will go down a bit.
