Freakin nice bro. Thats what I'm looking for. Not a crazy limit, but something to work off of. Do you have the number to contact that office? I would greatly appreciate that. You can inbox me or post it on here. Someone might need that info also.

You’re going to get approved. They’re a little slow (backlog) but you will get your approval notice soon. If you don't get your approval by Friday, call and have your application escalated.

You call the regular customer service number or 800 THE CARD and ask to be connected to New accounts. What you tell them is totally up to you, you’re requesting reconsideration and you need to give them reasons for them to reconsider. The result is either Yes or No depending on your situation and how well you can convince them but it is very unlikely that they will stick to the initial decision.

Bottom line, you have a 5% that they will say yes and 95% No.

    Good Luck

    Default Amex Blue Cash Reconsideration

    Hi everyone,

I have a couple questions regarding reconsideration for the Amex Blue Cash everyday card-

I applied for the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card last week and was instantly denied. The reasons they listed were Too many recent credit checks (Experian), Amount of credit available on accounts (Experian), and Number of trades (Experian).

First item: I have 4 credit checks in the last 2 years: 1 pertains to a Chase card I got in June, 1 when I switched from my family's Verizon plan to my own, 1 for a Car loan that I bought a month ago (~11K, first payment due tomorrow), and 1 for the Amex.

Second: The reason I'm applying for a card is to decrease my credit utilization. I recently started a new job and am racking up a lot of expenses, which is killing my utilization. I've had at least one credit card since I was 18 (22 now, I have 2), and have paid off in full every month without exception. I've at ~40% utilization now, but will continue to pay off in full.

Third: My longest active credit card is 2.5 years, the other I've only had since June.

I have no negative items on my Credit Report, and my Experian score is 761. Honestly I was kind of surprised to be rejected, but from what I've heard it happens. When I was 20 I had the Amex Gold card for a year, but canceled before the Annual Fee hit (paid in full every month).

Should I attempt to get a reconsideration? If so, what's the number to call? I've called two numbers and all they say is to fax in a copy of my credit report and they'll check the accuracy of it, which doesn't seem right based on what I've read. Thanks in advance for the help

Forgot two things: I actually have three credit cards, not two (1. Chase Sapphire Preferred, 2.5 years, 2. Chase Freedom, 8 months, 3. Target Red Card, 2 years), and annual income is ~$65K

No. American Express has already given you three solid reasons why they do not want to open a line of credit with you ... right now. From an analyst position it appears that something has happened in your life that has caused you to use the little credit you got, and then all of the sudden you want more. It is nothing against you personally, but right now you appear to be of a financial risk. From what I understand, getting a Blue card from American Express is a little harder to acquire, and usually people who get that card use it ... A LOT. Yes your credit score is good, but your length of credit is not. You have only been using credit for 2.5 years. Would you give the keys to a Lamborghini to an 18 year old who just started to drive or a 40 year old who never had an accident? Your credit score is only a snapshot of how you are doing today with credit, not the entire big picture.

What was the reason for your account not approved at this time?

    Hello,

I ordered an American Express Campus Edition a few days ago. It is one of their prepaid cards and interestingly the only one that can be ordered by Non-US citizens, accepting a passport number as identification instead of a Social Security Number.

Today I have received an email stating that my order could not be completed for "undefined" reasons. I called customer relations but that did not help resolving the problem.

Maybe someone could help me understand what exactly is going on here:

I am a foreign student (from Germany) in the United States, holding F1-student-visa, and therefore cannot obtain a Social Security Number. Even more so, I was positively surprised when realizing that I could still apply for the Campus Edition card, since the application requires EITHER Social Security Number OR Passport Number (for Non-US-citizens). This is the link to the online application form:
    https://www279.americanexpress.com/B...oducttypecd=BN

Since I have received the UNDEFINED email saying that my order could not be completed, I inquired for further information and called a Customer Service representative who simply told me that I needed to provide a Social Security Number. I must say that this information is rather irritating, given the fact that it is not a requirement in the actual online application form.

Furthermore I was then forwarded to an American Express Prepaid Card representative with the perspective of ordering a regular prepaid card since this would not require a Social Security Number. Again I was startled to find out from the Prepaid Card representative that this information is not correct. She once again wanted to transfer my call back to the Campus Edition, repeatedly stating that I would not need to have a Social Security Number for that particular card - which I know now, seems not to be true either.

I must say that the expertise of the Costumer Service representatives was not satisfactory and that it is highly irritating that they are only providing misleading information.

Is there anything you can recommend that I could do on this behalf?

    I appreciate your help!
