Credit score requirements for American Express Business card?
Hello all,
My name is Aaron, and I'm new to the site. I just had a question about American Express small business cards... Such as what are the stipulations/requirements for the guarantor of the card?
My score right now is in the rebuilding stage (620 range). One obstacle I face is that I had an American Express Card about 4 years ago and fell on hard times. I was not able to make payments, however, I was able to pay the full balance off before it went to collections and they gave me an Optima card.
As of now, personally, I have a Capital One Rewards Card, Shell Gas Credit Card, and the Optima Card I mentioned. Does anyone have any POSITIVE advice that would be beneficial. Thanks!

this is more of a company card. a small business but still a company card. are you a general manager, vice president, treasurer, president, ceo or owner of your company? If you own the business i'm not sure what the annual salary requirement is to get a small business card.

Ah, I understand, I should have added that. I've started my own business, and not quite in the need for a business loan, but a couple thousand dollars here and there will suffice. I still have a full-time job as supplementary income until my business grows.

since you own a business it's certainly acceptable to apply. assuming you are no longer in collections every credit card company has been paid by you. you mentioned you have a fico score of 620. it's possible since you are the business owner you might not qualify.
if you were a traveling salesperson for a small business and still with a 620 score, but all of the company owners had 795 to 830, then they could get you a card. But since you own the business and you have a 620 score I am not sure if you would get approved.
However I wish you the best of luck. have you decided which level you want? any thoughts on the plum card?
