Thread: Amex Only

Hello all,

I know there are a few wholesale clubs that only accept amex but have anyone come across any other business that only accept amex?

There is a well known restaurant here in nyc that only accept amex or cash. I found this interesting. Even though the restaurant seems lucrative I highly doubt it can generate enough amex transactions to get a better percentage.

The quick conclusion that I came up with is the owner believes this is the most PC way of wanting his business be to cash only since the his/her establishment is located in an up and coming neighborhood.

Just wondering...

Costco accepts American Express cards but in recent years they allow Visa Debit. Maybe Debit MasterCard not sure. Other than that, Neiman Marcus is the only other merchant that I know of that only accepts Amex (along with their own store card).

you are correct cc. costco takes both visa and mastercard debit cards.

Interesting side note: Neiman Marcus recently announced that they will begin to accept Visa and MasterCard along with Amex.
