Switching from Blue to a Charge Card?
Hey all-
Great forum. Just started lurking and I figured I'd post my situation for advice.
In college, I opened a Blue for Students. I usually paid it in full but sometimes kept a little bit of a balance. I never was late. In law school, I got a little sloppy and built up a pretty big balance (topped at about $4 thousand on a $5 thousand limit). I've been out of school and working for a few years, and have paid off my full balance. I will now pay the balance in full each month.
It really was sloppy to build up that kind of debt. I don't want to do it again. That's why I'm thinking about switching to a charge card. For (reasonably full disclosure), I make about $120,000/year, have significant student loans (which are always paid), and rent. I checked my credit a few weeks ago and it was around 740.
Is a charge card for me? Which? Any other advice? What about my Blue for Student points, which I've never used?
Thanks!

you will still get in trouble if you don't be careful, hell you could get in more trouble because you can't keep a balance. If you just want a card to pay off every month with with a 25 annual fee get a zync card

I like the charge card versus the credit card because it really makes me think twice before I use it. I know that whatever I'm buying has to be paid off in a couple weeks and I plan accordingly. It makes me more disciplined. Just my 2 cents.

what you 2 are saying is why I think it is harder to get a premium card.

There is no difference getting a green, gold or platinum card. Is easier to be approved for a charge card than a credit card.
