Want to move from Zync to Green or Gold Cards
Hey everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but have already found a wealth of information.
I started out with AMEX 10 months ago with a Zync card. I've liked it a lot and found the points to be useful, but would really like to take full advantage of what the points can offer with one of their higher end cards. I travel a lot and the Gold Premier card's ability to triple my points seems very attractive.
I'm wondering how likely it would be for me to be approved for, ideally, the Gold Premier card. I don't want to take the hard check to my credit report unless there is a strong likelihood that I will be approved.
Here are my stats:
- Credit score of 730 on Experian.
- The only negative on my credit report is a missed student loan payment from like three years ago (I don't remember missing it, but apparently I paid it a bit late because I've since paid that entire loan off.)
- Been an AMEX Zync holder for about 10 months
- I'm a law student so my income is in the $50k range right now (including summer work and part time work) but will rise to around $80k (based on the job offer that I have right now) starting next year.
What are the chances that I will be approved for Gold? Green? Should I wait to apply until I've been a Zync member for a full year?
Thanks!
