I did this switch a few weeks ago but I was after rewards not 0% APR. No problem, no inquiry. I really considered the Preferred version but my largest local grocery chain doesn't take AMEX. Like their website states if you spend only $25 a week on groceries that covers your $75 annual fee. That doesn't take into account 3% on fuel.

    Better card you ask?
No one card is the best, as best is relative to what you spend the most on.

Best year round Gas card? PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Card, 5% monthly statement credit. It can't even be beat by quarterly bonus cards, only matched.

Best year round restaraunt card? Citi Foward, 3.125% cash. This can easily be beat by quarterly bonus cards.
