Default Getting An AmEx Zync after chapter 7 bankruptcy?

I'm debating applying for an AmEx Zync but I'm not sure if I would be approved.

Two years ago I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy. Before I filed, I had an AmEx Green Card. Now I have two credit cards 1) $700 limit 2) Authorized User on SPG AmEx $36,000 limit. My credit scores are 648/669/668. My annual income is $120K.

Should I bother applying or should I wait longer? Thanks!

The answer is you need to wait, it's only been 2 years. if your annual income is 120,000 why would you have problems paying your bills?

since you filed for chapter 7 I wouldn't apply for any credit card or charge card. only a debit card is what you should have.that spg card that somebody authorized you to have, I hope you are paying your part of the bill.

no applying for any cards and no getting any more cards except a debit card until chapter 7 comes off your credit report.

American Express will never issue a card to someone with chapter 7 that was filed with-in the past seven years. Another way to qualify for guaranteed denial is to own them money are include that in your filing.

For the next few years you need to stick with Capitalone, Householdbanl, merrick bank & Junniper

Was the Green card included in your bankruptcy? If so, don't waste the inquiry, you would have a better chance of finding a three-legged ballerina than getting back into their good graces.

If the Green was not included, you may try their pre-approval directly from their website to see if it may offer you something. I have to agree with everybody else though; that bky is too fresh to be approved for a prime card like Amex. A good indication on when you should apply again is when you are getting $3K+ credit lines from prime banks on your own (not as auth user). Provided you did not include Amex in your bankruptcy, you could apply three years from now and they should backdate your new Amex to your original Member Since date. You may want to be sure that you have your original account number handy just in case so the new card can be backdated.

CC Deville I can answer your question. Md 1984 had the green card before he/she filed for chapter 7.

I wish I could take credit for it. John Candy said it in a line in Planes Trains and Automobiles.
