If you want the card, go for it, make your move. there is no way to know if you will get it if you do not try. If you are confident on your rebuild process and credit behavior, I do not see any reason why you should not apply for it.

If anyone else is interested in the Platinum card, send me a PM. I'd be glad to get you a referral. The current signup bonus is 25,000 Membership Rewards points. The value of the points and benefits of the card make for a great opportunity.

I can also refer you to the Gold Delta SkyMiles card.

Hey Pete838, is there any way that a current platinum holder can get access to those points?

There is a current offer for 50k MR points for a new Platinum, but it's a personal cad, and you've already got that. They are pretty hip to multiples of the same card to the same person for signup bonuses. You could definitely get a Platinum Business card and reap those rewards, though, but I don't have a link to a current offer. Will let you know if I come across one.

    Default there is hope

I filed bankruptcy in 94 included an optima card and a gold amex. In 08 received a pre approved offer for a blue sky card with a $3100 limit, converted it to a blue cash card and now today just went from a $15,000 limit to $25,000 limit have spent about 50k on the card this year with no interest paying card off monthly. So good to be back in the amex family good luck to all who have had dings with them in the past there is hope!!!!
