Thread: Amex Green vs Gold

In a review here about the Amex Green, it states that the Green card is not worth getting. Question. What are the benefit's of the standard Gold card that offset the higher annual fee compared to the Green? not only that, but, you'd have to do a lot of traveling to offset the annual fee of the PR Gold compared to the Green. no?

Im not calling you out, just trying to figure out what the standard Gold offers over the Green that justifies the higher annual fee.

I've wondered the same thing.

But the Gold's didn't seem to offer much more for the higher AF.

So I have the Green and if I upgrade it would be to the Platinum.

with the Gold card you get gold card events, meaning you get access before the general public whether it be concert events, sporting etc.

Gold card members are suppose to get access to any kind of event before the public gets them. with the Gold you get a year end summary of all your charges, it comes in a booklet style.

with the green card you don't get these 2 benefits.

GPR is quite good, at least for me. it gives me 2X MRP on gas and groceries, and i spend some money on both every month... it already gave me 15K just on those two categories.
