U.S. Amex Gold Premier Rewards Card Benefits
Same as the post about the Amex Platinum card benefits, is my impression than the GPR card is getting old, meaning there are new cards in the market given better benefits.
Again, Amex should start doing some kind of analysis to not loose business with new cards with better perks.
Any comments will be appreciate.

American Express is focusing on particular markets/users and will not lose business simply because the demand is always there. With the Platinum card losing United and Continental lounge access, I agree they better start thinking of something new.

Like giving Green card members dining reservations, whether people use the card for business or personal use.
Back in April I called to see if I could get dinner reservations (I took my friend and his family out for doing my taxes) American express said they only do this for Platinum card members. So I used my capitol1 card that night.
We are not asking for airport lounge service, we're not asking for copies of our year end summary, or tickets first before the public gets them. just dinner reservations.

That is what i am talking about. Right now there a lot of cards on the outside, and providing good benefits. I think AMEX is loosing some ground against the other companies.
I have always think that AMEX card are above the rest (visa, mastercard, etc), and within AMEX, charge card are even above the credit ones (IMHO) so they should start keeping up with the image they have and start taking more care about their card, members. I have a very simple example about:
Last Thursday was the premier of the film The Love We Make, from AMEX and just for card members, it was about a concert in 2001 after 9/11, at the regal cinema they gave us some free pop corn and sodas. I was thinking that by the end of the movie the CSR will be outside waiting for us with a CD or DVD from the concert, but no way they were already gone!
Come on AMEX, you can do better than that...
