    Default Have Blue Cash vs Platinum upgrade (yearly analysis included)

    I'm brand new to this forum and really appreciate everything I've read so far.

    As the post states, I have had the Blue Cash card for about two years and am thinking of upgrading to the Platinum card. I put about $35,000 on the card last year and see that being pretty much the same this coming year (maybe closer to $40K). My wife and I travel at least twice a year internationally and domestically.

    Last year:

    47% spent on merchandise/supplies
    17% spent on transportation
    15% spent on restaurant
    9% spent on travel

    I really value the opinions and knowledge of tis forums members. What do you think I should do? Stay with the Blue Cash, upgrade to Preferred Blue Cash or the Gold or Platinum card?

    I spend about the same amount on the card, and I wouldn't switch to platinum because of the outrageous annual fee does not offset the benefits for me. The airlines I use to travel overseas don't honor the plat card and I dont think the companion ticket thing would be useful to me either.

    It doesn't appear you are spending much on the categories that the Blue Cash gives higher rewards on. What kind of traveling do you typically do- i.e. work or pleasure, low or high end? For the transportation category what do those charges typically consist of?
