Thread: How often should I request a credit limit increase?

Hi guys, first post here,

I just got approved for an American Express Zync ($500 limit with AutoPay). I only have one other credit card ($1500 limit through my college's FCU). How often should I request a credit limit increase on the AmEx?

You have to wait 60 days after your account was open to request your first CLI.

I didn't know there was a credit limit on the AMEX Zync Card?

There isn't a credit limit on the Zync however that hard cap is something new they put in place for people with fairly new credit. After 6 months I would call up and see if you could have the hard cap removed in which case it would turn into a regular charge card with no hard limit.

How do you know what your hard cap is?
