Cool Ideas on why Amex cancelled their Zync card?

I received my Zync card about a month ago and I love it, so I was shocked to see today that they've actually taken it off their website! It's cool in a way knowing that it's sort of limited edition now, but at the same time I'm confused as to why they made their decision. Anyone have ideas on why? Or were they just not getting enough applications?

I still see it on their website and have the application page open right now.

Ditto. I still see it and mine still works. Are you looking at the cards comparison? If you are logged in it may not offer you a card you already have.

I'm not logged in but I see now that Pete is right--they don't show the card because I've logged in recently and the site just assumes I'm me. False alarm guys, mistake on my part. I just had no idea that they removed your current card(s) from the list. I wish they didn't do that!

As AmanteDecor said, it was taken off their website for a while. They also asked affiliates such as this site to remove promotions of the card. I suspect they might be prepping to pull the card from the market, though I would like to reiterate that is nothing but an unsubstantiated suspicion and I was not told any information to support that.

Although I have no evidence to support this theory, I wonder if it might be because the Zync's low fee is stealing business from the Gold and Gold Premier Rewards. It certainly must be taking away from the Green.
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.

    Current Cards:
American Express: Blue Cash, Simply Cash Bank of America: WorldPoints Platinum Plus Chase: Amazon, British Airways, Cash Plus Rewards, Freedom, Ink Cash Citi: Thank You Premier, Dividend Platinum Select Discover: More
Primary Everyday Card: American Express Blue Cash
Primary Travel Card: Citi Thank You Premier

I applied for it 2 days ago, and it showing on their site. I was approved (my oldest account is only 1 year old this month), they proposed me a card limited to $500 (spending limit) with the AutoPay service (they debit my checking account upon the closing the billing cycle).

I heard people telling me that they discontinued this offer, but for me 2 days ago, it was still there, and so is it tonight on their site.
