Default Amex Premier Rewards Gold qualifications question

Amex mailed me a Gold Premier Rewards card invitation. I'm interested in the card's benefits, and I do want to establish excellent credit. I already have an Amex card through Macy's with a $5,000 spending limit and owe about $1,500 on it. My credit is, through Experian, 768, but I've had a credit card for only about 2.5 years now.

But because I'm a full time student and only work part time, I make only about $4,000 per year. What do you think the likelihood is of me meeting the qualifications and having my application approved?

Assuming that is a FICO score not a FAKO score, then you should be in the clear!

I just checked my FICO, and it's on the lower side at 714. Does that bring me out of the clear?

If you already have the Macy's Amex with a $5,000 limit then I would say you chances are in your favor but normally 714 would be on the low side. The qualifications for the Amex charge cards are easier than the credit cards though, generally speaking.
