Default How soon can I request a credit limit increase?

New member here, only had the Blue Cash card for maybe two weeks. When I applied I was instantly approved with a 5k credit limit.I actually think I went for the wrong credit card but that's another subject. My problem is that I've been using the card a lot at work and paying the charges off immediately.Just in the few weeks of me having the card I have used it to the tune of $4500.As I said I pay the card off after a week or so of the charges to try and keep my ratio down.Should I just continue to do as Im doing or should I inquire about requesting a credit increase? To me it just seems kinda early to be asking for a credit increase!? Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Default Short answer:

Every six months you can see if you qualify for a line increase. They will take your salary income and other incomes into consideration.

I would consider switching to an amex charge card then. My experience has been that most CC companies won't consider you for increase until after AT LEAST 6 months. Discover wouldn't do it for me until a year.

I'm an amex green card member, considering upgrading to Gold because I do the same thing and use it for business expenses and I love it.

During the hay day I remember my American Express Blue account had an "request credit limit increase" tab that I could press once a month. I think we are far, far away from seeing that come back. The 6+ months is also the minimum I have heard from the credit cards I use, listed below.
