    Default Blue Cash Rewards

I was looking at my latest statement and noticed that my cash back wasn't as high as expected. Turns out I don't get the higher percentage on any of the purchases leading up to the $6500 requirement. Is that correct? The description listed on this site here says: "Best of all, since your rebate is awarded annually, so it's okay if it takes you a full 12 months to rack up that much in purchases... you'll still get the 5% and 1.5% on all those previous purchases."

As far as I know if spending exceeds $6,500 in a calender year all your spending is put in the upper tier but I think Amex changed that recently.

And even if the award 5%cashback after spending $6,500 their Blue Cash online calculator shows wrong amount of cash back. It shows $40 cash back rewards if you spend $6,600 on gas, groceries or drugstore (pharmacy). It should be $70. Lets calculate: 1% of $6,500=$65. After that 5% of $100 (that is $6,600 - $6,500)=$5. Add these two numbers and we will get $65+$5=$70. Whats wrong with Amex? And terms and conditions of cash rebate earning are not so much explanatory.

Actually I am thinking of closing my Premier Rewards Gold card, and after that may be TrueEarning too.

Default Think they just lowered their rebate rate

on some customers. I noticed mine went down.

As for the blue cash website calculator...I've used it and it showed me coming out ahead using Chase Freedom, other cards. If they want business then I think they would configure the calculator in order to show their rewards in the best possible light.

I got blue cash a few years ago and considered using it for everything. However, based on my 2008 charges of more than $28,000 it was still not the best deal for me.

This card isn't what it used to be. It only benefits the biggest spenders now. I suggest you consider an alternative.
