Anyone spent over 100k and got the Centurion card?

Postby AdVeRsARey » Tue May 13, 2014 11:01 pm

Hey everybody. New to the forum. So please forgive me if this question was asked before ...

I have been an Amex member since 2006. At that time I was 24 yrs old and making 52k. Fast fwd to now, I will be 32 yrs old in Sept and I make 135k (Not including overtime). My assets is close to 1M. I do have a Platinum but I just recently started "heavy" random spending. I basically pay house bills, car notes and whatever else I can swipe. Man ... I even pay my parents bills hahaha! I really dont have any debts. So I think I can make it pass 100k. My credit score is around 750ish and Tier 1 (No late payments, I believe) Anyways, I was just curious if anyone actually got the invite by just spending over 100k annually? And recently?

That's the million dollar question.

Its been said before.... Amex approval process for Centurion is often spoken about but no one has the answer of how they select Centurion cardmembers. Even those that hold the card as I do not know how one is selected from their pool of members.

It's like KFC's secret recepie... you 'kind if know' but don't.

All I can say is it's like this (personal experience)... IF you long for it and do everything you think you need to do to get it, you liikely will be waiting for a while. As for me, I didn't expect it and got the invite to which I was very happy for.

My advice, live your life, don't worry about the Cent. IF you least expect it, it will come.

There are those who have spent much more and have not been invited.

You can always call and ask to be considered for one...but that's not fun, waiting for the invite is the "real" way to get the card.

Yeah, that's kind of what I did. I just lived life and one day without asking, the invite came.

Can't confirm but it appears if you ask they more than likely let you wait longer or don't give it at all.

As I happened to say on another thread I helped two of my clients to get a Centurion by asking directly to AmEx. They got the invite a few weeks after I talked to them.

unfortunately, yes...and am still awaiting the invite. that said, from everything I've read, theres no way to know exactly what makes your profile stand out! I know someone who has spent less than 100k and received an invite and I know others who spend more than 500k and still don't. I'm wondering when & if any invites will be extended in this year!

Clients? And I'm sure your clients have a better income and better assets than me. Now you got me curious ... What is their income and assets? Asking Amex directly? Do you have a specific hotline or something?
